Qualification Structure

The Qualifi Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management is an Ofqual-regulated qualification accredited on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The qualification has a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 1200 hours and 600 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).

Assessment is conducted through written assignments and evaluated on a pass/fail basis. Learner submissions are internally assessed and quality assured by approved centre staff, with external quality assurance conducted by Qualifi to ensure the qualification meets required UK regulatory and quality standards.

To achieve the qualification, learners must successfully complete all six mandatory units.

Unit 3. Factors Affecting Risk and Strategic Risk Intervention

• Understand the fundamentals of setting up and
  maintaining a responsible risk management program.
• Be able to assess health and safety risks within the organisation.
• Being able to develop risk control measures.

Unit 4. Strategic Commitment to Health and Well-Being

• Be able to evaluate the strategy and policy for a
  business to develop commitment to an integrated
  health, well-being and safety strategy.
• Be able to promote plans and engage all levels of the business so that the strategy is actioned, monitored, and evaluated.
• Be able to understand the various occupational health and well-being issues that have an impact on employee safety and welfare, the standing and reputation of the company, and the relative threats.

Unit 5. Sustainability and Ethics in Health and Safety Practice

• Be able to ensure the business reflects in all its
  undertakings a strategy and implementation plan for sustainability alongside its core health and safety objectives.
• Be able to demonstrate improvements in behaviours at
  all levels of the business and all working relationships as a result of developing and implementing improved business sustainability and ethical practices.
• Understand the scope for ethical business practices on the part of the health and safety professional and the scope for developing engagement and commitment to ethical behaviours and measures.

Unit 6. Advanced Research Methods

• Be able to develop research strategies.
• Be able to critically review literature relevant to a Health and Safety topic.
• Be able to design research methodologies.
• Be able to plan and prepare a research project.
