Qualification Structure

The Qualifi Level 7 Diploma in IT is an Ofqual-regulated qualification accredited on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The qualification has a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 1200 hours and 600 Guided Learning Hours (GLH), with 120 credits.

Assessment for the Qualifi Level 7 Diploma in IT is assignment-based. Learner work is assessed in accordance with Qualifi assessment and quality assurance requirements to ensure that learners demonstrate the required knowledge, understanding and application of advanced information technology principles.

Unit 3: Database Management Systems

• Understand the components of the entity-relationship (ER) model and how to convert from the ER model to the relational model.
• Understand the application of functional dependency-preserving concepts.
• Be able to perform the installation of a programming language database and perform Create, Read, Update and Delete (CRUD) operations.
• Be able to perform database operations using MySQL.

Unit 4: Management Information Systems

• Understand the requirement to consider technological, ethical/social and international aspects of management information systems in modern organisations.
• Be able to evaluate the ways in which organisations build, manage and maintain management information systems.
