Assessment is evidence-based and assignment-based, requiring the learner to build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating occupational competence in the workplace. Evidence may include workplace observations, professional discussions, photographs, site documentation, reports, witness testimonies and other relevant records. Assignments assess the underpinning knowledge and understanding required for effective construction site management and retrofit project delivery.
Assessment is conducted on a Pass/Fail basis and is internally assessed and verified by centre staff, with external quality assurance provided by ProQual Verifiers to ensure compliance with qualification standards. The Retrofit pathway has a TQT of 2,290 hours, while the GLH is determined from the units selected within the pathway. To achieve the qualification, the learner must successfully complete the mandatory units and the required optional units specified for the Retrofit pathway.
