The awarding body for this qualification is ProQual Awarding Body, and the qualification is designed for those working in the construction and built environment sector.
The qualification has a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 900 hours for the General pathway, while Guided Learning Hours (GLH) vary according to the pathway and are 120–160 hours for the General pathway. The General pathway requires the learner to complete three optional units from the approved unit group, allowing the qualification to support a broad range of construction contracting operations.
Assessment is competence-based and evidence-based, with the learner required to demonstrate the skills, knowledge and understanding specified by the qualification standards. The assessment is internally conducted by an appropriately experienced and qualified assessor, with the learner producing a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate achievement of the required learning outcomes and assessment criteria. Evidence may include assignments, projects, reports, assessor observations, professional discussions, witness testimonies, candidate work products, worksheets, oral and written questioning, and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
