Qualification Structure

The ICTQual Level 8 Professional Diploma in Health, Safety and Environmental Engineering qualification consist of 10 Mandatory study units having a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 1800 hours and 900 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).

Assessment is conducted on a Pass/Fail basis and is internally assessed and verified by centre staff, with external quality assurance provided by ICTQual AB Verifiers to ensure compliance with national standards.

To achieve the qualification, learners must successfully complete all ten mandatory units.

The Transitional Safety Practitioner® (TSP®) is a designation awarded by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) to eligible graduates of safety, health and environmental programmes that meet BCSP's Qualified Equivalent Program (QEP) standards. The TSP® recognises an individual's preparation for professional safety practice and provides a pathway towards the CSP®. The TSP® is a professional designation, not a certification. It recognises completion of a current BCSP QEP and indicates progress towards the CSP® certification.

TSP® provides several professional benefits, including:

  • Meets the BCSP qualified-credential requirement for CSP® eligibility, subject to meeting all other CSP® requirements.
  • Provides a recognised pathway towards the CSP® without first needing to obtain and pass the ASP® examination.
  • Demonstrates recognised preparation for professional safety practice.
  • Provides a BCSP digital certificate and digital badge.
  • Includes the TSP® holder's name in the BCSP Credential Holder Directory.
  • Provides access to the BCSP Career Center for career opportunities and CV/resume posting.
