The Qualifi Level 5 Extended Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management is an Ofqual-regulated qualification accredited on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), designed to develop advanced knowledge and practical understanding of the hospitality and tourism industries. Qualifi is an Ofqual-recognised awarding organisation, and the qualification has QAN 610/3386/8.

The qualification combines Level 4 and Level 5 study, giving learners a broad progression route across hospitality and tourism management. Its curriculum covers eight mandatory units: Sustainability in Tourism and Hospitality Management; Operations Management in Tourism and Resort Operations; Management of Visitor Attractions; Employability and Development in the Hospitality Industry; Tourism Destination Management; Entrepreneurship in Tourism and Hospitality Management; Cultural Tourism Management; and a Research Project.

At Level 4, learners examine sustainable tourism, tourism and resort operations, visitor attraction management, and professional development. Level 5 extends this knowledge into destination management, tourism and hospitality entrepreneurship, cultural tourism, and applied research. This structure enables learners to examine industry issues, analyse real-world organisations and develop solutions using management, analytical, evaluative, communication and research skills.

The qualification is relevant to learners seeking to develop their academic and professional knowledge of hospitality management, tourism management, destination management, visitor attractions and related business environments. It can also support progression to a Level 7 qualification or the final year of a bachelor’s degree, subject to the requirements of the receiving institution.

The Extended Diploma comprises 240 credits, with 2,400 hours of Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 1,200 Guided Learning Hours (GLH). All eight units are mandatory.
