The Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Law is an Ofqual-regulated, RQF-accredited qualification designed to develop advanced knowledge and understanding of core areas of law. It is awarded by QUALIFI, an Ofqual-recognised awarding organisation (reference number RN5160), and carries Qualification Accreditation Number (QAN) 610/1092/3.
The qualification builds on foundational legal knowledge and focuses on four Level 5 areas: Equity and Trusts, EU Law, Land Law, and Law of Tort. Learners develop an understanding of the historical development and principles of equity, the rationale and framework of European Union law, interests in real property, and the nature and purpose of liability in tort.
For UK learners, the diploma provides structured academic knowledge relevant to further study in law, with the qualification specification stating that its underpinning legal knowledge may contribute to preparation for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE). It can also support progression to further higher-level study, including a final-year bachelor’s degree route where accepted by the receiving institution.
For international learners, the Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Law offers a UK-regulated qualification framework through which to develop and demonstrate knowledge of established legal subjects. However, recognition for professional practice or progression is determined by the relevant university, regulator, professional body, or jurisdiction.
The Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Law is an Ofqual-regulated qualification accredited on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The qualification has 120 credits, a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 1200 hours and 480 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).
Assessment for the Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Law is assignment-based. Learners complete written assessment tasks for each unit, which address the required learning outcomes and assessment criteria. Assessments are internally marked by the Qualifi-approved centre and subject to external moderation and quality assurance by QUALIFI before certification.
