The ProQual Level 3 Certificate in Teaching, Training and Assessment is a professionally focused qualification for individuals working, or seeking to work, in teaching, training, assessment and learning and development environments. It is designed to build practical knowledge and competence in planning and delivering effective learning sessions, assessing skills and knowledge, and supporting positive learning outcomes across workplaces, workshops, classrooms and other training settings.

The qualification covers key principles of teaching, training and assessment, including selecting appropriate teaching and training methods, planning structured sessions, evaluating delivery, preparing assessment activities, making fair and reliable assessment decisions, and maintaining quality assurance within the assessment process. It also addresses effective communication, equality and diversity, relevant policies and legislation, health, safety and welfare, and continuing professional development.

At Level 3, the qualification provides a strong foundation for developing professional teaching, training and assessment capability. The Total Qualification Time is 90 hours, giving the learner a structured framework for developing knowledge and competence relevant to modern educational and workplace learning environments.

Assessment is assignment-based and graded on a Pass or Fail basis. Assessment decisions are internally assessed and verified by centre staff, with external quality assurance provided by ProQual verifiers, supporting consistency and compliance with qualification requirements.

The awarding organisation is ProQual Awarding Body, while the regulatory body is the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). The qualification specification is also approved for use by centres in Wales and Northern Ireland.
