By the end of the Principles of Working at Height unit, learners will be able to:

  • Explain Key Legislation and Regulations – Demonstrate understanding of the primary laws and standards governing work at height, including the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Identify Common Working at Height Hazards – Recognise typical risks such as falls, falling objects, fragile or unstable surfaces, and environmental factors like wind and rain.
  • Understand the Purpose of Risk Assessment – Participate in or conduct risk assessments to identify hazards and implement suitable control measures prior to starting work at height.
  • Adopt Safe Working Practices – Describe and apply safe procedures, including correct use of PPE, fall prevention systems, and safe access and exit methods.
