The Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training is an RQF Level 5 vocational teaching qualification designed for teachers, trainers, tutors and education professionals working, or seeking to work, in the further education and skills sector. The qualification is accredited to the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and has the QAN 603/6055/0. Qualifi is an Ofqual-recognised awarding organisation.

The qualification develops the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to plan, deliver and assess effective and inclusive teaching and learning. Its core curriculum covers theories, principles and models in education and training; teaching, learning and assessment; developing teaching, learning and assessment; and professional practice in education and training. Optional study areas include action research, learning resources, equality and diversity, inclusive practice, internal quality assurance and managing learning and development in groups.

The Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training requires 120 credits and combines theoretical learning with practical teaching experience. The specification requires a minimum of 100 hours of teaching or training practice, supported by assessed observations. Assessment is assignment-based, with tasks designed to demonstrate learners’ understanding of educational theory and their ability to apply it to realistic teaching and training contexts.

The qualification is particularly relevant to UK and international teachers, trainers, tutors, assessors and vocational education professionals. Successful learners may progress to a Qualifi Level 6 qualification, university study towards an undergraduate degree, or employment in an associated profession, while the specification also identifies a potential pathway towards Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS), subject to the applicable professional requirements.
