  • Lay modular pavement to the required specification, including setting out, preparing, measuring, marking, cutting, placing, levelling, aligning, compacting and finishing.

  • Apply relevant legislation and official guidance when preparing and using powered units, tools, pedestrian plant, machinery or equipment.
  • Maintain safe and healthy working practices when preparing for and using powered units, tools, pedestrian plant, machinery or equipment.
  • Select the required quantity and quality of resources needed to prepare for and sustain the operation of equipment.
  • Minimise the risk of damage to the work and surrounding area.
  • Complete the work within the allocated time.
  • Operate powered units, tools, pedestrian plant, machinery or equipment safely and effectively in accordance with the required specification and working instructions.

Upon successful completion of this unit, the learner will be able to:

  • Interpret information relating to setting out dimensional control of the work.
  • Apply relevant legislation and official guidance when setting out dimensional control.
  • Maintain safe and healthy working practices when setting out dimensional control.
  • Select the required quantity and quality of resources for setting out dimensional control.
  • Minimise the risk of damage to the work and surrounding area.
  • Complete the work within the allocated time.
  • Set out secondary dimensional work control to the required specification, including lines, levels, depths, areas, heights and angles as required.

Upon successful completion of this unit, the learner will be able to:

  • Comply with workplace health, safety and welfare legislation requirements.
  • Recognise previously uncontrolled workplace hazards and report them according to organisational procedures.
