The Level 6 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety consists of 4 mandatory units for a combined total of 32 credits, 320 hours of Total Qualification Time (TQT), and 120 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the completed qualification.

Upon completing a Level 6 Occupational Health and Safety qualification, learners attain the requisite knowledge, understanding, and skills to excel in various Occupational Health and Safety roles. Graduates who achieve the diploma qualification become eligible to apply for Certified membership status with CertIOSH.
Those granted Certified membership can progress to an Initial Professional Development (IPD) phase, wherein they must furnish evidence of their practical skills through a skills development portfolio. Following this phase, a professional review interview is conducted. Upon completing the IPD process and the review interview, students become eligible for Chartered membership of IOSH (CMIOSH).
